NEAL, MITCHELL, BA Marriage & Family Therapy Intern

(he/him)

Neal is currently working on his master’s degree in marriage and family therapy at Kean University. He is closely supervised by Dr. Christiana I. Awosan, LMFT, AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor. Neal has worked with men, women, and couples, but has found particular success working through issues that are unique to Black men.  Neal knows the value of wisdom gained from life experience and pairs this wisdom with compassion to best serve his client’s needs.

“Every one of us is an amalgam of our experiences, upbringing, community and culture.  Yet often we are unaware of how these separate influences affect how we relate to ourselves, our family, our community and those we love.”

Neal’s Approach:

Neal likes to give his clients a sense of comfort by creating an informal and non-judgmental atmosphere. He then collaboratively explores the various influences that impact personal and relational health and helps his clients work through them.

“We will not only talk about whatever is on your mind, but you will be challenged to have a more transparent understanding of who you are.  Empowered with this understanding, we will explore more beneficial ways to address your current concerns.”
